Wood Door With Mail Slot
Today I am veering from theme a bit. Instead featuring doors all of one color, I am featuring mail slots.
You see, I live in a neighborhood where our mailboxes are located at the end of our street instead of at the end of our individual driveways. It’s a small street with only seven houses and that’s just the way it’s always been.
I hate it.
What height is the mail slot at? I've seen some that are really low, that you'd be able to cover over with a kick plate after filling in the hole with something more substantial. Also, an image of the whole door area would be useful, as there might be other treatments (eg, wood paneling, some decorative stained glass, etc.) that could be blended in with the rest of the house so it wasn't obvious. FixtureDisplays 20-Slot 10.8 Wide Door Large 10' Wide Slot Cellphone Locker Station Storage Cabinet 23.3' Wide X 9.1' Deep X 35' Tall Mail 0 Sold by FixtureDisplays. Brass Plated Mail Letter Slot Fits All Wood & Metal Doors 3' X 10' Inside Opening: 1-5/8' X 7-3/4' Steel Spring Loaded Flap, Meets Postal Regulations 4.3 out of.
As you can imagine, on those evening when you realize at 9pm you never got the mail, instead of being able to skip down the driveway and grab it, I have to trudge down the street.
It bugs me, but what am I going to do?
As a result, one thing that always fascinates me are people who get their mail delivered right through their front door. You know, those mail slots built right into the door…
I love those!
I am going to suspend reality for a moment and not think about the fact that my dog Edgar would go absolutely berserk every time the our Mail Carrier put mail in and I am not going to mention how much the perceived energy loss through the mail opening would cause my husband to complain incessantly… …for now I am just going to showcase lovely doors with mailbox slots.
Enjoy!
